I'm needing a garden wall built round my front garden, 5m x 5m, and about 1m high, plus foundations. I have the materials but need a builder to do the work. I've had a labour quote of 200; does that sound like a fair price?
Thanks for the warning, but I doubt that will happen. I asked a friend of mine who's been a brickie all his life to do the work, but haven't had time to get another quote to compare it to. To be honest, I wasn't planning asking someone else as I'm in a hurry to get the work done, but just wanted to know if he was giving me a fair price or charging me full whack.
Sounds good though!
I guess what I should have asked in the first place is what's an average hourly rate for a brickie?
That would have made for an easier comparison!
So: what IS an average hourly rate for a brickie?
I'm clearing the ground just now cos I've taken out bushes so the roots need pulled out. No point in paying someone else to do that! But the foundations, wall and harling will be 200 labour.
