If you mean Amaryllis which is a tropical blulb... it can be planted anytime between say early Winter (November) to mid to late Spring (no later than mid April). It should be planted up to its neck in a good, moist soil. It will grow and bloom in about 10 weeks. Be sure to keep it watered but not drowned. It likes warm temperatures and as much direct sunlight as you can give it.
After bloom is complete and the stem begins to wilt, cut the stem off and it should bloom again.
If you dig up and store the bulbs, be sure to keep them cool and dry (not more than 50 degrees F).
Good luck!
