our neighbours across the road are a family of 4 and they have 5 cars and a huge white van which they park all over the road i got home and i parked my car outside our house to which the mother come out and told me not to park there coz her husband has difficulty gettin his van on their drive (alltho its not outside their driveway) anyway i had nowhere else to park it so told her it wernt gonna be there for long, when my mum got home she went round and told her not to tell me that i cant park infront of my own home.
bearing in mind when they get visitors they arnt bothered if they obstruct your driveway, are we in the right here? and should i carry on parking there? x

tell her to get stuffed!!!
fair enough dont deliberately block her drive or anything but your more than entitled to park your car anywhere in the street as long as it isnt an obstruction.
i say if she has this many vehicles she is being totally selfish and should realise that other people have cars too!
silly moo
Carry on parking there. Your mum can deal with it if need be as clearly she is in agreement with you. You are perfectly entitled to park outside your house and dont make excuses to her like 'just for a while' etc. If she gives you a mouthful then say she should contact the local authority to ask them for clarification on where you can park.

She is being unreasonable with all her cars and so dont budge on this
I'd say its your own driveway so yer you're in the right. But I'd put this in the law section.
my mate has a driveway then you have to cross her neighbours land to get into her back gate and so she has been told she's not allowed to.
This actually happened to my mans family before, right gobby family the neighbours were!
When the told them they will be contacting the Local Authority they soon had moved their cars! If not, i would recommend you secretly taking a picture when all the cars/vans etc are parked there, just in any case you need proof! :)
Keep parking where you like as long as its not a hazard to others and tell them across the road to boil their heads
Carry on parking there
If it is in front of your own property then stuff her! Don't worry about it and if she keeps moaning then point out maybe she should get rid of one of the other cars!

I hate people like this... My house and the 2 either side of mine share a small private sort of drive and a square of tarmac all hidden from the main part of our road. On the deeds for the houses it says we all own a 3rd of the tarmac but this it to divide any payments in case of damage to the tarmac! We each have a garage and a drive way big enough for 2 cars... but our old neighbours were constantly having people over and parking on the tarmac which means we (the middle house) and our other neighbours could never get in and out of the drive! They always said they were entitled to park there coz it was on there deeds! But on our deeds it said we owned the middle section so we could have blocked everyone from coming and going! Duh! Grrrrrr
There's no reason for them to have so many cars. Tell her to bolt!
Hah! that family must have one hell of a giant carbon footprint! Guess making them feel guilty about their effect on global warming won't work, huh?
they have no legal entitlement to the road outside their house ( neither do you for that matter) so you are all entitled to park wherever you like - even in front of their house if you wanted.
You should check your deeds, our say that you can only park 1 or 2 cars depending on the size of your house (3 bed houses have one lane driveway, 4 beds have 2) and you are not technically allowed to park vans, caravans or lorrys at all, though people don't bother as long as people don't make a nuisance of themselves. Your neighbour sounds like a nutcase - you are entitled to park where you like, but I would keep an eye on your car - they may deliberately bang or scratch it just to show you who's boss.
