Cam-ray Boiler
3 Answers
Is it possible to buy and replace the heat exchanger /water jacket on my Cam-ray boiler,- model 15/21-external, as I've got a problem with "kettling" due to limescale??. I've used restorer twice now , the second time within 4 months and it's back again . According to all the pundits I've spoken to I live in a soft water area so there should be no problems with lime scale but something is causing all the "banging " in the boiler so any advice would be most welcome.

Do you know for sure it is limescale causing the kettling ?
and have you tried to powerflush and re clense the system and add a inhibitor to the system. This normally works and gives the boiler and system a new lease of life. Without a proper concentrate of inhibitor the problem will keep occouring.
But to answer you're question yes it is possible to buy a new heat exchanger for you're boiler Just pop down to your'e local heating spares supplier and tell them the make and model and they will get you one or order one online via one of the many heating spares sites. You will need an OFTEC oil man though to fit it if you are in the UK that is. Good luck Gasman :o)
