Petrol Lawn mower fault

Lawn mower starts ok after priming but dies after 2-3 secs as though petrol not getting through - any suggestions on clearing blockage??

Yes, It sounds like a blockage probably due to sediment in tank or carboretor. strip it down,flush it out and reassemble.
Also check the fuel can from which you are using.

Tanks for that ---yes old fuel --will have a go at stripping carb
