I have a Dyson Hoover and it's a nightmare! Always breaking down. I definately think that they are definately over rated. I've decided I'm going to get rid and buy a new one. Can anyone recommend any??

Thanks

Our last was a Dyson, after reading some posts on here, we bought a Miele, you won't get better, a pleasure to use.
Yes there has been a lot of discussion on here about Dysons, the majority of people saying they would never have another one (including me) and I also agree that Miele is fantastic.
I have an Oreck vacuum and I love it.
It is very light to use ,has wonderful suckability ,brings up carpets like new and has an extra long lead
OK..Its a bit pricy and I have to change the bag when it's full but I wouldn 't have any other.Good luck with your new purchase whatever it is.
Yeah, I got rid of my Dyson - couldn't stand it. I too bought a Miele and love it.
Get a Henry,they`re fantastic!
You're right - threw mine onto a skip. Absolutely terrible.

Bought upright Bex Bissell vacuum cleaner (bagless).

Love it. If it ever breaks down that is what I would buy again.
However- had our dyson quite a while- never been a problem- brill cleaner!!
Just wanted to confirm that my Dyson was also rubbish and constantly breaking down. I'll never get another one.

My Hemry Hoover is excellent - have had it for years with no problems!!
Had a Dyson too.. ..rubbish .Have a Miele cat and dog now ..brilliant .
Get a Henry.
Had a dyson ( crap ) buy a Henry .
Having asked this question on AB about 6 months ago, we bought a Sebo X4. We have had no problems with it and it works really well. The great advantage to me (being 6' 3") is that it has a longer than average handle, so I don't get backache. They are only available from John Lewis in the UK (for about 250), but if you bung 'Sebo X4' into Google, you will find sites where you can mail order for around 200.
I now have two Dysons - one upstairs and one down.
No Hoovers though!
miele every time ,my first one was still going strong after 12 years only replaced it as it was too big for my flat and have had the second one for 10 years no problems at all with either.they are not cheap but you get what you pay for
My Dyson is My Best Friend - its absolutely brilliant
my wife loves her Dyson she says its the best hoover she's ever had. Wouldn't swap it for anything
Having worked in the Vaccum repairs industry for a number of years I have to say that Mr Dyson has suckered most of the UK into buying his machines. I think if I had conned a lot of people out of their money I would too do a runner with the profits. Having said all that after years of trashing from 'Which', Dyson have been cornered into giving a 5 year warranty with their machines. Thats all well and good but who wants to go through the hassel of calling them up every six months to get new parts.
Its a toss up between Sebo or Meile. If I had the money I would buy the Sebo x4 from a local electrical retailer not John Lewis or the internet. If its down to price and having no allergy problems then I would buy a bagged panasonic for about 60.
I have been using a Nilfisk for years and would highly recommend them. I do have a Henry which I keep upstairs and it is good but not as good as the Nilfisk. It is the only one I know which you can switch on and off at the handle as well as on the actual casing, which is extremely handy.
