Our freeholder has offered to sell the footprint freehold of each flat in our conversion. He seems more keen on this idea than renewing all the leases (some of which have less than 70 years to run). He doesn't want to sell the freehold to the building. I can't find much information on footprint freeholds - can anybody help?

you are entitled to purchase your freehold despite yr blokes reluctance. check with a solicitor or rental agewnt. there is even an arbitration service to assess the right price for your freehold.
