Any ideas how I can disguise it ? I had thought of using brown shoe polish...anyone got any better ideas ?

A few years ago I came across a product called Scuff Coat.
It was made by one of the leading shoe polish manufacturers and used to hide scuffs and scratches on shoes rather than just polish them.
Perhaps a good shoe shop may be of some help to you.
