I have a Cannon Orchestra B.F. gas fire which has been in the house since new 6 years ago. It has worked just fine until we had some windy conditions recently and the wind seemed to blow the fire out through the vent from the outside house wall. Since this we have not been able to get it to work. The ignition light still sparks but it would seem that there is no gas coming through. Has this wind triggered some sort of safety cut off that can be resolved without the need to call somebody out. HELP!!
Most likely, the high winds have caused minute particles of dirt / grit to block the gas supply to the pilot light, therefore, the peizo igniter has nothing to light up.
In any case, you would be well advised to have a corgi registered engineer inspect, and carry out a service at the same time.
As this is a balanced flue appliance, it is essential that all the seals are replaced correctly by a qualified engineer.
Hope this helps.
