I know they take over and handle everything, but how much do they charge? Also does anyone out there have an opinion on DSS tenants?

we had a DSS teneant the council paid a percentage and the tenant had to make up the rest however they never did and we were quite a bit short in the monthly rent it took a while to get the tenant out and we were out of pocket quite a bit

Letting Agents differ from agent to agent however, as a rough guide they usually charge a certain percentage of the monthly rent.

What I would advise you to do is contact the letting agents in your area and ask what their fees are. I would ask them to mail you a copy of the paper work so you can pick the best letting agent as to the service you require.

you could try housing assosiations. they may rent for a set time and you know you will be paid and they will also keep it in good order.
