Things a bit different this year in the garden ?

A few things seem different, even from one year ago. Very few cherries on the tree, normally it would have been laden with fruit (even though the pigeons get the lot). Fuschia bushes which were unremarkable last year are now 4 feet tall and spreading. A pieris which similarly looked lacklustre last year is now, incredibly, 4 feet high.

I did treat the whole garden with Miracle-Gro 2 weeks ago, but it can't be that good surely !

Is anyone else noticing changes in the garden which appear to be over and above natural variation ?

Mmm, I had masses of blossom on my cherry tree and load of fruit then I had an infestation of black fly which I've never had before and I don't think I'll get any edible cherries this year. But, I've just finished picking my blackcurrants, gooseberries and am just starting to get raspberries. All of those fruit are huge and very abundant. Loads of plums , pears, apples, runner neans, courgettes and walnuts too. I 've used my own compost as feed as usual but this year does seem different. Dunno why.
