converting cubic metres to metric tonnes

we're filling in a pond and can't quite work out how much topsoil we need to fill it. the volume of the pond is one and a half cubic metres. could anyone help please?

This site estimates typical top soil (with some moisture) as weighing 1.44 tonnes per cubic metre:

So, based on that, you'll need 1.5 x 1.44 tonnes = 2.16 tonnes
