Cats are specialised carnivores.Their alimentary systems are relatively short. Food is processed quickly and consequently, cat poo still contains a reasonable amount of nutrition. Dogs therefore recognise cat poo as a potential food source (as you are no doubt aware, dogs spend their entire time searching out things to eat, or at least, mine does ) . This is little consolation when he bounds in and starts lovingly slobbering over your face.....

I had a dog who was copraphagic (ate poo but that sounds sooo much better). I fed her tinned pineapple and that seems to do the trick. Apparently there's something about pineapple which has been through a digestive system which makes it very unappetising to dogs. Question is, will your cat eat pineapple?
