I have an aged Yucca that has been in the garden of every house I've ever lived in. The babies are sold off for charity regularly and I tell everyone not to worry, they will recover. Last year the original plant got so big I sawed (yes with a bowsaw) it down and planted the babies. Only the trunk was left with no roots and no foliage. I stuck it in the ground and it now has 13 babies. They are practically indestructable. I imagine houseplants are similar but don't have any experience
Is it just top heavy? Maybe it just needs repotting. You could try using a john innes compost which is heavier than the usual peat based compost, and try staking it till it establishes itself. Also, this will sound very obvious, but have you watered them? They will probably benefit from a bit of feeding.
