Hide a hole help

I've just removed a very dead winter flowering Heather from the front/corner of a raised bed. This has left a very large gaping space of about 2 foot square. Please can anyone suggest something (not a heather) that's evergreen, fast growing and if possible with a weeping habit to cover 9 inches of bare stone? Thank you.

This is really bizarre, not only do I already have a Vinca, but last week because of the cat problem my husband bought 2 Blue Stars!
That is such a strange coincidence that I've decided to put a Blue Star at the top of the rockery to replace another dying heather and the Vinca at the bottom and let it grow where it will. Many thanks to you paulz and apricot (I will write down your layering instructions).
