I am quite sure you both know that turnstone is asking if a building attached to his property but on his neighbour's land can be knocked down without turnstone's permission.

Now, can either of you answer it?

I'm not sure of the ins and outs regarding the law and it is also a bit hard to comment on structural integrity without knowing a bit more about the situation. I think you should get on to your local council first thing in the morning and ask to talk to someone in Building Control. This may be attached to the Borough/County Engineers Dept. Explain the situation and they should help you out.

T74, get straight down to your council offices if you think there is the slightest risk that the work will damage the stability / safety of your property.

Perhaps a serious reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is a legal thingy called 'party wall'. They CANNOT remove any structural part of their house without 1st having permission as it could damage yours.

Example; 2 houses have adjoining chimneys. they remove theirs and yours will fall down eventually as they both support each other.

Check your local building regulations wether this applies

Also they must make good ANY damage done to any part of your property if this doesnt apply
