Can you pick it off with your nails?
Use a toothpick. It's soft enough not to scratch the crystal, but tough enough to use as a lever.

The big bits are quite easy, using either nails or sharp wood, but it's all the little bits that are causing me problems. Like fat splashes from a frying pan, if you know what I mean! I have several I need to clean and of course it's an on-going problem.
Thanks for answers so far, still hoping for a way I don't have to address each little blob.
Try using a hairdryer to melt the wax (saw this done on How Clean is your House) and then wipe with a cloth.
Try using an orange stick, the wooden ones with slanted ends that are used for pushing back the cuticles of your fingernails. They are soft enough to scrape the wax off without damaging the crystal.
use a debit card or similar to scrape off the small peices.
