I have just bought a new dishwasher to replace the old one, I paid for the installion too, when the delivery come the guy delivering was also connecting it, fine by me, then he said --I cant disconnect your old one it wont budge and we dont carry any tools with us so I cant do it, luckily we had tools that would undo the old connection and the day was saved, surely these guys should have had been given a set of tools before leaving the depot ? I cant believe they would not be given one single tool ----am O over reacting in this modern day & age ?

If they are selling "disconnection and installation" as part of their customer service package, and they are not fulfilling their promise to the customer, the store might want to award the delivery and installation contracts to somebody who is more competent and prepared.
Many retailers offer a "connection service" which does not include disconnection of the old appliance.
Typical terms for such a service may include the following caveat -
"The delivery team will be unable to connect your new appliance if:
The old machine is not disconnected.
Any electrical/plumbing supplies needed fail the delivery team's testing or are considered unsuitable.
Any water supply needed cannot be isolated or is unsuitable.
Any drainage/waste facilities needed are unsuitable.
Mechanical adjustments are required to the appliance to overcome such things as water pressure problems.
Alterations to existing plumbing and electrical connections are required."
You should check any agreement you have with the supplier to ascertain the type of service they were actually meant to provide.
