where are all the spiders coming from, i keep getting loads of them, i moved house last year and ive never known so many, i hardly had any of them in my previous house

We too moved house about a year ago and we've got loads of nasty spiders - I don't mind proper spiders but these are small bodied with long thin legs, more like daddy long legs without the wings. They appear everywhere and make really bigs webs - ee yuk!!
I've been given this tip though and it seems to be working. Put loads of conkers around the house, on window sills etc. My son had a boat and did this to keep it almost spider free.

Since I moved into my house a couple of years back, I've only really had about one spider every 6 months, until this month - they're everywhere!

Apparently it is mating season at the minute and they are all coming into houses for some reason!

I am having a dreadful time with the biggest spiders you have ever seen in your life.
I am terrified of them too. I tried the electronic sound thing but that has not worked.
Spoke with a colleague who works with the Environmental Health and he advised me to use a hard bristle brush round all the windows of the house and spray with insect repellent.
I did this the other night and not a spider so far.
Seems that is the place they lay their eggs.

Spiders are trying to fatten up for winter,so they need to have lots of webs everywhere. They will hibernate soon I think once the weather changes.

I hate September - my mother always said that they come out to find water, not sure if this is true mind!

All of july and August I hoover all my nooks and crannies to get rid of baby ones. I hate them, I am petrified and they seem to lay in wait for me!
