I have two potted cordylines, how best should I look after them during the winter months. Cover them or take indoors.

The best action is to use tubular protection fleece to cover them up. If in a sheltered spot near to the wall of the house they should be ok.
I live in the South of England and dont use any protection on mine and they are fine.

I agree - it really depends where you live. I used to live in Dorset, and I bought 2 that were not supposed to grow more than 3 - 4 feet maximum. They were absolutely great plants, and grew to 3 times that. I have a friend in Germany though who has problems in the winter, and she just covers them with lightweight plant protection, and they are fine.
