does anyone know how hir dye can be removed from clothes? my daughter had her hair coloured whilst wearing one of her good tops, i have tried using the usual stain removers and the stain has faded but not enough for her to wear it, the top cannot be washed in hot water because it has got a sequinned picture on the front, any ideas would be welcome (apart from telling her to wear an old top next time which i have already done), thanks

I fear your daughter may be unlucky. Most of these hair dyes are designed to pretty pretty permanent on hair and work in the same way of fabric. You could try one of the Stain Devils range but it didn't work for me on a splashed towel even though I treated it within minutes of noticing the stain had appeared. Another splash on a cupboard also failed to be removed and is still there haunting me 12 months later!

I think if the top can't be soaked in water, realistically there is no hope at all of removing it. These dyes stain materially almost instantly and can't be washed out. The only way of avoiding the problem is to wear old clothes and a protective towel or cape when dyeing hair.

wendyS. Thanks for replying, as we have tried everything possible to remove the stains, i think her only answer is to keep the top for future colourings and learn from it!
