best advice to clean a carpet in a house that had 2 cats living there.
my son moved into a new house friday gone and now his 9 month old son is coughing a lot. the neighbours told him that the previous occupants had 2 cats.
should we dry vacumn a lot or get a wet /dry one from a hire shop and go for a spring clean?
any advice/experience of the above would be appreciated
thanks in advance

We hired a shampoo style carpet cleaner, when we got flooded. We got ot from Homebase for about 15, and it was amazing, and I expect it would get up those hairs for you and make the carpets fresher.
I would do both, dry vacuum in all directions first, that lifts the airs..then a commercial wet and dry..a company is better as they are more powerful but usually quite expensive. A hire one will also do it, I have dogs and use one regularly to freshen the carpet.
try the rug doctor carpet cleaner which you can hire out quite cheaply it cleans carpets brilliantly.
