Light denimy blue is a very fashionable colour to have with brown at the moment. You'll probably find things in this colour scheme in most homeware departments at the moment

I'd go for cream, but what is the main colour scheme in the room, i.e., walls/flooring? Cream does blend in with most colours.

It depends on the rest of your colour scheme, and what sort of brown your sofa is. A pale soft green can look good with dark brown and is very fashionable at the moment. But if in doubt go for (washable) cream.
