Administrator. The personal representative appointed by the court to administer the estate of someone who has died intestate (i.e without a will) or who left a will which did not appoint executors. The basic rules are that they should be familiar with the terms of the will and not deviate from them; they must take care of the property and assets as though they were their own; they must keep full accounts and keep the beneficiaries fully informed; they must consult with any other trustees, and not make unilateral decisions, and if in doubt, they should take legal advice. This is just a short extract from "The Penguin Guide To The Law". There are a couple more paragraphs. I would suggest looking at your local library for a guide to the law.
