Mildew

Can anyone tell me please is it possible to remove mildew spots from a velvet-type material. It's covering a display-box for a coffee-set.

you could try using a steam cleaner, most are designed for stripping wallpaper but have cleaning attachments too, this way you wont be using any damaging cleaning chemicals.

Thanks Dinsdale. Problem is I don't have a steam cleaner. Will see if any of my friends have one. E.R.

You can hire them. Try your local tool hire shop. Sometimes, places like B & Q hire them out as do Dry Cleaning shops. Have a look in Yellow Pages for upholstery cleaners - they'll be able to help too.
