Hi, I have stripped my walls and ceilings of plaster and now there is a layer of emulsion paint which I need to remove. How on earth can I do this quickly? Is there an easy way? i REALLY HOPE SO :(
I'm no expect, just a diy'er, but surely you can't. Emulsion tends to be absorbed by the surface, whereas gloss does tend to provide a surface layer which you can scrape/paint stripper off. Emulsion is just generally painted over with more emulsion.
Geemac raises a valid question! Never-the-less, emulsion generally won't stand up to a steamer. It'll soften, and can be scraped off quite easily. Any emulsion that has soaked in on application, and can't be removed, will provide a firm enough base for whatever you apply on top.
