Sky TV possible listed building.
2 Answers
We are moving on Tuesday into a flat which is possibly a listed building but I'm not sure.
I really want to have sky as we aren't in a cable area and there is no freeview signal either. I've heard that if the building is listed then we would need planning permission for that.
I have also noticed though that the building already has an ADT alarm mounted on the front of it. would this be more likely to suggest that the building isn't listed or that we would be able to have sky?

It is listed building consent and not planning permission that you will need for a satellite dish. It will depend on how special and unusual the building is but in our borough we tend to allow dishes on listed buildings if they aren't visible from any public vantage point and don't wreck the appearance or fabric of the building. Putting one up without listed building consent would be a criminal offence so don't just do it and hope you get away with it!
