We had a new bathroom and cloakroom fitted 4 years ago and the plumber used chrome coloured semi flexible hoses to connect the existing water pipes to the taps and cisterns. These are now becoming very discoloured with black and green mould and are very difficult to clean and also look very unsightly. Can we paint them?

dont see why not...
If they are chrome they should clean easily with chrome cleaner. Paint does not adhere well to chrome especially in damp areas. You can get special paints that last longer than the bog standard but they are more expensive. It would just serve to delay the inevitable peeling. It would be false economy. You'd do better by just replacing them with new, good quality fittings.
yes, but don't use a gloss type paint in case it affects the rubbery tubing that runs through them.
