I have successfully used a pressure washer to do the job on a marble garden ornament, but it was not 20 yrs old. However try it and if you have stuborn stains I suggest the use of a strong household bleach. Apply liberally and leave it to soak on the marble for a few minutes or more. Then if stain persists use a nail brush (or equivalent) to scrub area of stain. Then thoroughly rinse off with clean water. Be carefull not to get the bleach in your eyes when scrubbing. Let me know how you get off.
