cat dirt everywhere
53 Answers
We have a cat keeps visiting our garden to do his business and never covers it up. Hes a friendly cat but Ive everything to discourage it from using our garden even one of those sonic gun things but he doesnt take any notice. I cant really put horrible stuff down as we have a cat of our own but at least he always goes in the same place and covers it up whereas the other does it all over, even the lawn and just leaves it. How can we get rid of this cat !!!

I can see the water point of view and dare say it doesn't hurt them to any extent .Probably just gives them a shock but to willfully want to kick a poor defenceless animal is just cruel .
They annoy me digging in the flowerbeds but I can't condone wilfully hurting them .
I do think owners should be more responsible and train them to use a litter tray .I would never have let my dog poop anywhere willy nilly .At the end of the day it's irresponsible owners who are to blame not the animals ..

With a name like pusspuss I am not really surprised at your comments. Just enough sugar to make it sticky. A cat is always preening itself, so has no lasting effects. This was purely done as a deterent. It was a vet that advised me to do this. I don't think he would have advised if it would cause any lasting damage. As I have said I detest going out into my garden and finding cat mess. Why should irresponsible cat owners spoil my enjoyment in my own garden? I was doing some weeding of my flower beds when I was about 3 months pregnant and found numerous cat poos there. As I was pregnant, I was worried about toxoplasmosis. Not having a cat this really infuiated me, hence the water!
Mine never had a problem with it. I used to live very close to a main road and lost one cat to it so I decided never again. My next cats were both healthy and happy with their lot.
They both lived to 15 so I guess its not that bad.
I like cats and don't wish them harm but I hate having to clear up after cat whos owner shoves it out the door to c*ap in other peoples gradens and help itself to the local bird population. Birds have right to live to. Yes I know its a cats natural way but the cat population is such that it is knocking out the bird population.
Guess I'm the one thats going to get shot now.:-(

Pusspuss, you are obviously a responsible cat owner then. That is the point I have been trying to make all along! If all cat owners were like you then there wouldn't be the problems described on this thread. You cat is obviously a well loved and looked after pet. I don't have a problem with that. I would say to you well done for caring for your animal in a responsible manner.
Yes I know the A A Milne character, and yes that is where my name comes form. I don't have a problem with cats in general, just the ones left to roam into my garden. I was a dog owner for many years, and always cleaned up after my dog. Some dog owners can be irresponsible too, by not cleaning up after their pets. I would class myself as an animal lover and have never hurt an animal, as I know how important pets are to people.
