leylandi trees, what spread root is there in these trees please

The roots are very shallow and dependant on height 20foot has been known.To get rid of them scatter chalk on your property,as conifers need acid in the soil to live

They can grow well out from the spread of the branches. I'm not sure about spreading chalk around, if it did work, which I doubt, you'd kill the trees

once these get out of hand there a pain ,they grow so quick.are these the most hated trees in the uk???

I don't see how you figure that from the question Norfolk Boy, they simply want to know how far the roots reach. You may be right, or not, we can't tell. Either way weakening trees often isn't a great idea, it may be Jokents head they fall on
