Cauliflower problems

Late last summer I started some "all year round" cauliflowers and put about 40 healthy plants into the garden in the autumn. A couple quickly formed curds then bolted and now I have a lot of healthy looking plants with lots of leaves but no curds> No they are not cabbages. Does anyone know why there are no curds and are the leaves worth eating.

I would think that the lack of *curds* was due to lack of water. Why not try lightly steaming the leaves and tasting some - if they taste of nothing, then they're probably not worth bothering with. If they taste fantastic then leave them in the ground and just harvest them over the next week or so. You could possibly shred them then add to a stir fry or lightly steam them and add to a cauli cheese. I am quite partial to lightly steamed baby cauli leaves with a sprinkling of sesame seed oil.... yummy !
