I read somewhere that instead of putting ice cubes in your drinks which will water it down when they melt, that you could run the glass under the tap then put it in the freezer. This would keep the drink cool without diluting. Is it ok to do this though? Would the glass not crack in the freezer?
It would work if there isn't too much water left in the glass - but it would work anyway without water - just put the glass in the freezer as it is without bothering about the atp.
I sometimes do the following:
1. Put the glass in the freezer for a couple of hours
2. Breifly remove to glass from the freezer and it gets covered with an even, fine layer of condensation
3. replace the glass back in the freezer for a couple more hours and it'll be covered in a pleasant, even and attractive frosting
4. pour beer in glass and enjoy
As yet I've never had a cracked glass
