Can anyone tell me how to adjust the newer type of toilet seat [the type will circular cam-type adjustment] so that the seat will stay up when lifted and won`t slide about when sat upon? There must be a simple answer but it`s driving me to distraction. Many thanks in advance.

I thought I was the only one with this problem. Thanks for asking. Hope you get a solution.
Fit the seat, do the wing nuts up finger tight, move the seat/lid to the required position (so the lid/seat will stay up and it is central on the bowl) by turning the circular pieces. Then tighten the wing nuts up so the seat won't move. If the nuts are not nylon/plastic, make sure you use plastic/nylon washers or you might crack the bowl. That is how I did mine, I'm assuming yours is similar.
I fitted a kit from htp://www.toilidfix.co.uk - only took a couple of minutes and it's now as solid as a rock.
