I aren't frightened of death itself but am frightened of actually dying. Don't want to be morbid but would like to hear your views please.

I sat holding the hand of my last auntie as she slipped away last week. She was ill and went from being in pain to being at peace.
I think most 'actual dying' falls in to 3 categories
1. You die peacefully in old age, usually by falling asleep and not waking up.
2. You have a miserable illness in which case death is usually a peaceful release.
3. You die suddenly through illness or accident in which case it is so sudden you tend not know what is happening.

So in general I think the 'actual dying' is not really anything to worry about too much.

Thank you for responding, now it doesn't seem so terrifying, hope we all just go to sleep though.
I was fortunate enough to be with both my parents when they died, + I felt privileged.
In both cases they became very serene + peaceful, and I was certain they were being greeted by loved ones on the other side xx
i jus spend my life tryin to avoid thinkin bout death really. put it to the bk of ur mind cos nothing u can eve do or think can avoid the fact its gonna appen one day. As a kid im sure we all went thru tht horrible period when u realised one day your family were gonna die and eventually you will too. No point dwelling on it! a very sad brute fact!
Would love to Go peacfully .

Doesnt worry me at all - the infinity bit used to give me nightmares when I was younger but now I dont think about it.However seeing the devastation it can leave in your wake I revised my will last week and I can assure you it aint traditional but its personal and will make everyone smile.Everything is well covered and in a strange way I got solace from knowing that my family arent gonna have to make tough decisions or second guess when i go.Done and dusted so I can now just get on with the path fate has marked out for me- thats life !!!
The manner of death is always a worry, the fact of it is a certainty. The huge majority of human beings have a fear of being annihilitated, which means that when you die, you don't just go to sleep and to some comforting permanent rest in the sky, you STOP, completely, absolutely nothing left.

I have a belief system that persuades me that this won't happen (or NOT happen?). So, is death the end? No, it is a continuation and a beginning.
Dris, I hope I'm mentioned in it and will be smiling after it's read. lol
ha ha ha ha scared of death!

i laugh in the face of death!

I'm not scared of death!

sh!t me fo0kin sen wen i see a mouse though...
weird!
It's my belief also that death is the continuation of life beginning in a different phase. If you've ever had an outer body experience you'll understand more clearly.
tw@t, take 5 minutes of quietness, go somewhere on your own, imagine what it would be like to CEASE TO EXIST. Nothing to remember on your part, just nothing, absolutely nothing at all, no waking up in the morning after a good sleep, because there is nothing left of you to remember anything, and if history and kids remember you, then what is that to you, because you have ceased to exist.
eh?
you on medication whiffey?
