how to kill thistles

what can i use to kill thistles and not my grass, i have heard of a product of weed be gone, but i think its only available in the usa

There is a product called Verdone that will kill the thistles and leave the grass intact - just dilute and apply with a garden sprayer - think it comes in a ready made up hand sprayer too.

you want a thing called a selective weedkiller. They also come with lawnfeed mixed in to help the grass recover. Any gardenstore or plant centre will have them. Read the insstructions carefully with regard to plants and wildlife.
IMO they are not as effective as total obliteration weedkillers!
