Hi. I've bought a vax to clean my carpet. They were flooded lat year, and at the time we cleaned them with one of those rug doctor machines from B&Q, but over time the dirt seems to have risen back up to to the top. Now, I've just had a go with the vax, and it's done a pretty good job on the general cleanliness of the carpet, but there are a few areas with more stubborn marks, which wont budge. Can anyone recommend a good product that you can put directly onto these small but stubborn marks that will get them out. I've tried JML magic foam, but no luck

I use vanish carpet mousse and find this works brilliantly on our cream carpet - removed red wine and blood with no trouble at all. (No it wasn't a punch up after a boozy evening :o) )

Have you used it on old stains Cheeky?
No, the oldest have probably been about 4 or 5 days old. they were slightly more stubborn but tended to come up better if the carpet was moistened a little while before using the mousse.
Im sure Ive seen something in the supermarket called carpet power in a spray bottle. Never tried it though
lakeland do a wonderful carpet cleaner in what looks like a small fire extinguisher-type canister. it will get anything and everything out, and unlike some carpet cleaners that you can buy, doesn't contain 'brighteners' so doesn't leave a 'bright', stain-free mark, which stands out almost as much as the stain you've removed. chem dry also do a very good one, but i don't know where you'd buy it, i bought it from the chem dry people when they came to clean our carpets.
I have bought the Stain extinguisher from ChemDry like ethandron and it really is good. If you look in yellow pages and then ring them up perhaps they can tell you where you can buy it.It is a carbonated cleaner and the bubbling action brings the stain out.The Oxykic from Lakeland (also mentioned by ethandron) is good but I had better results with ChemDry.
