Been given a second hand fridge that has been switched off and shut up for about two weeks, causing it to have a bit of a smell to it. Is it best to leave the door open for a while, or just switch it on and close the door?

Wash the inside down with some bicarbonate of soda solution, wipe the excess down with kitchen paper then leave open until dry. Then turn it back on and let it come back to normal operating temperature before you put any food in.
