The Electrician you employ to do the job will know exactly what to do as he has to be qualified to carry out the work.
If you have qualifications to do the job then you should know what you need to do.

You need to call in an electrician, and he will know exactly what to do, don't mess around with earting, it may sound easy, but it is one of the most important parts of wiring a house.

Definitely call an electrician. You can't even think about doing this yourself if you're not qualified please!!

Whatever you do don't go to B&Q and buy the first coil of earth wire you see as they will sell you anything just to get the profits up....
