Not with terminated the service, but with the interface between the Accounting department and the service provision. I find them very unable to cordinate between different departments.
They cut me off for not paying (which I had) then failed to reconnect me for 6 days when they said it would happen in 24 hours. They have eventually refunded me one month's payment because of it.
Its seems to be fine running the 'status quo' - its when changes occur it tends to go wrong.
buildersmate - I will be moving house shortly and made inquiries about transferring my broadband and was told it takes up to 20 days to get my services back at the new address. Who can really be without the internet for so long nowadays. I have now decided to cancel my services altogether at the very last moment and have decided to get BT. A friend of mine also had trouble with Tiscali as they wanted to charge her 11 months fees for a contract they had renewed for her without her knowledge. She had to threaten with publicity before they finally agreed to stop her service.
Yes I am with Tiscali and have been for 3 years. Moved house last year went through the transfer process absolute nightmare without broadband for over a month. My advice cancel Tiscali and get a new provider it has to be easier wish I had!!!!
I am sure you will have to give them 12 months notice. I was not aware that I had a contract. But when I tried to cease with tiscali, to go Post Office Broadband, they said I had undertaken to give 12 months notice of termination at the time I started with tiscali. They said that the only way for me to terminate was to pay 12 months fees. If you do try to get rid, make sure you warn your bank, so that direct debit cannot be levied, without your permission.
