sectional garage roof?

I am about to dimantle my sectional garage which is about 13 years old. The roof is that corrugated stuff. I was worried it might be asbestos so called the place i got it from who said that its not asbestos but some cement type compund. does that sound right? cheers

This isn't something I know but, like JNO, I believe that its use had stopped before 1995 (13 years ago). What I do know is that the old material was called asbestos cement - a compound of asbestos and cement mixed, then an alternative was found that removed the asbestos fibres and put something else in to provide the strength to hold it together.
The danger from asbestos is in the dust which kicks up from the surface or when the panels are broken. If you hose the panels down before and during the process, there is no reason why you cannot dismantle it anyway. But I doubt there is asbestos dating from 1995.

But Lloyd's of London was being hit with huge asbestosis insurance claims back in the 1970s, as I recall, and I think it was almost never used after that. You should be safe.
