You can keep any kind of lavender indoors for quite extended periods and it does stand heat but needs loads of light, so poss in a conservatory but not in your average sitting room. Munstead dwarf is one of the most compact and shapely forms
You may find it best to have several plants, at any time one can be indoors and one can be in a greenhouse recovering. Then just swop them round from time to time
