I have had a garden pond, complete with fish. It has a filter box, and the fountain/waterfall pump, has a filter also.

The water has always been crystal clear until this year.

It is now green and seems to have a milky appearance.

Can anyone please explain why this is, and if it can be made clear once again?

I have tried a product called 'green away' but this does not seem to work.

a ultraviolet filter will have your water clear again in no time, and if you've already got a uv filter then the bulb must need changing
straw or hay tied to a stone so it sinks will cure it
regular cleaning an maintenance of the pump to ensure good water movement also help, its just the natural progression of life in any body of still water to become full of algea , also i wonder how many plants are in there and are there any possibilities that fertiliser [ lawn grow etc] would have washed in
