laminate flooring or carpet?

I have nearly finished decorating my living room and dont know wether to get laminate flooring or carpet, Ive heard people saying that laminate makes it colder in winter, anyone used it in a living room before? and would you recommend it...thanks in advance!

Personal preference. I loathe laminate flooring with a passion, but I do like solid wood floors.

If I had dogs or cats I might think about laminate, but love my carpets in the bedrooms and living rooms. And there is no doubt that carpet is warmer.

i have laminate flooring in my living room,good hardwaring laminate,with a large wool based rug,which adds warmth to the living room.
i would also reccomend carpets for everywhere else.
