You need to turn it UP, not down. Down is colder.

If that doesn't work, possibly the thermostat is gone

A fridge should be set on 3 /4 unless it's
next to a hot appliance ..so the stat maybe
naff ?

I also find that having items touching the back wall of the fridge causes this problem
