how do i get a mildew smell out of a fridge that has been turned off for a month

Try washing it out with a strong solution of bicarbonate of soda and warm water, dry it well before switching it on again, and leave a bowl of dry bicarbonate of soda inside for a few days, it should absorb the smell, if not, change the bicarb and leave it for another few days, it should work, it did for me, I left fish in the freezer compartment by mistake and switched the fridge off, went away for a week, you can imagine what it smelt like, it took a few washes out and bowls of bicarb, but it did work, hope this helps!......................welsh

I would do as said above but also use fresh lemon juice on a clran cloth and wipe the whole fridge with it - this will freshen it up & get rid of smells
