My radiators are not heating up although the hot water is fine. I do not have a condenser boiler just an old fashioned one. The boiler fires up for water but not for the heating. It always did before. Any idea what has happened?

Do you have an old fashioned back boiler, where your hot water is stored in a hot water tank, or is it a combi-boiler where you get hot water almost instantly ??
Probably the motorised valve that switches the hot water into your central heating system has packed up. Time to call a plumber, I'm afraid.

Thank you both for your help. The hot water is stored in a tank in the airing cupboard. Elly.

Apart from the motorised valve, it could just be that there's a major air-lock in the system. Start with the lowest radiator in the house, working up, and bleed all the radiators to try and chase any air out of the system.

Also, the pump might be knackered/sticking, etc. The pump circulates the water around the radiators but it's not needed for the hot water as the hot water gets to the hot water tank using convection, hence the hot water is still getting hot and the radiators are not ........... in short it could be any one of a number of things .........
