Human nature causes it.
Its to do with differences between people and insecurities and jealousy caused by those feelings.
I sometimes think a lack of contentment with ones own life and the necessity to find someone to blame other than ones self also has something to do with it.

There's also an ignorance factor and an inability to understand different races too.

I dont understand why you feel the need to mention the BNP in your post though?
