I would like to put up window blinds, however, previous owner has put in upvc windows.  Are there special screws or fittings you can use to put blinds in to these types of frames?

We are just about to have new pvc windows fitted & will have the same problem fitting blinds in our bays!

If you can't screw directly into the pvc, another way would be to screw wooden batons above the top of each window, say down from the ceiling, paint it white & hang them from there maybe?

Window Blind company will fit blinds they put screws onto upvc with no problem.

Holmbrae, a neighbour who recently had upvc windows installed, was told that if they drilled holes into the new fames, the guarantee would become void!

Since you've mentioned that blind fitting companies drill holes directly into upvc windows with no problem, makes me wonder. I shall follow that up with our installer tomorrow. Cheers!

I had window blinds fitted to a conservatory four years ago and I have had no problems with work being done under the guarantee
Thanks for that Holmbrae, it had been playing on my mind ever since my neighbour told me theguarantee would become void! I shall now look forward to having the windows & blinds fitted - with peace of mind.

Thanks very much for your replies....we will hang our blinds with confidence!  Regards, debthames
Just thought I'd let you know - I phoned our window installer yesterday & he said it would not void the guarantee if we drill directly in to the frames - phew!
Possibley a bit too late for the original post, but you could have tried Perfect Fit Blinds. This removes the need to drill into the UPVC frame and leaves you with a neatly fitted blind.
