mole hills galore

i have never seen as many mole hills and large ones at that this year as i have any other year i can remember,could this be to the large amount of rainfall we've been having?

More to do with a series of mild winters which has extended the breeding season, and provided a longer period during the year when food is available for them.
Moles are deterred by people walking over them so if you've been staying indoors more than usual due to the rain they've been having a field day.

its nothing to do with a garden as im in a city centre apartment its the village greens and miles is road side grassed area that's be decimated like ive never seen before
